How Does This Work?

Our bespoke service is the quintessential English Tailoring experience; every garment is made by hand at our Hampshire Atelier.

Each garment unfolds over at least three fittings, with exclusive access to Bagley's complete cloth collection from Holland & Sherry.

You will meet the artisan personally whose hands bring your commission to life, whose skill and dedication are present in every stitch. Long after your final fitting, your cutter's name remains inside your jacket. It is that name that speaks to something more enduring, and the hallmark of authentic Peter Bagley quality.

 First Consultation

Your bespoke journey begins with a strictly private appointment at 31 Savile Row or a personal appointment at your home, office, or one of our locations, where you personally meet Peter, who will discuss your intended preferences and lifestyle requirements. Together, you’ll select from the Holland & Sherry collection of cloth, linings, and buttons, before selecting your preferred styling details.

Taking Your Measurement & Drafting Unique Pattern

Your bespoke garment is personally guided by Peter. In the meeting room, we will discuss our house cut, size, and silhouette. From there, we will take over twenty-five of your precise measurements to determine how the pattern should be drafted and adjusted to your individual proportions, ensuring the balance, fit, and drape are refined precisely for you.

 Your Baste Fitting

Once the cloth is cut, the bundle goes to be assembled in its roughest form as the baste. The baste garment is partially constructed. Its main pieces are temporarily joined with basting stitches, allowing us to assess the perfect fit, balance, and proportions.

At this stage, your piece will feature visible basting, unfinished seams, raw edges, etc. The baste garment is a crucial part of the bespoke process, as it allows perfect adjustments to be made.

Second Fitting

The next step will be second fitting, mean isn't simply altered, it is completely remade from scratch.  At your next fitting, you will see a masterpiece that closely resembles the finished garment. F.Y.I., each fitting builds towards perfection, with as many as 2- 3 fittings required to achieve the exact perfection in line and comfort for which our Atelier is renowned.

Hand finishing

Once approved, your garment is sent to our finishers, who spend hours crafting every detail. From pressing and shaping to canvassing, to hand-padded lapels, hand-sewn buttonholes, and top stitching.

Every stitch reflects generations of master craftsmanship. With over eighty hours of handwork, as many as five thousand hand stitches, as many fitting are required go into making every Bagley garment.

Finished Masterpiece

At this stage, your experience with bespoke comes to the final fitting.

You will try on a fully finished bespoke garment that is uniquely yours.

We will ensure every detail is exact before it is pressed, prepared, and leaves our atelier.

Your details and pattern are stored in our archive, allowing future commissions to be made with easy, evolving perfection.

The Sovereign of Earthly Fibers

The mystic and legendary origins of the vicuña have forever crowned it to be the most peerless textile in human history. Sourced exclusively from the most pristine, untouched summits of the high-altitude of the  Andes, this highly restricted material possesses properties—globally unrivaled in its absolute, sublime warmth and incomparable, cloud-like softness.
